These fantastic work shirts are produced in Japan using a ‘mock-twist’ technique which gives the fabric a mottled ‘salt & pepper’ texture, this is created by weaving two different coloured rovings (loose pre-woven cotton) to make a single thread yarn giving it the effect of a 2 ply twisted yarn. This gives the fabric its distinctive detail and durability. A little heavier than a chambray shirt these are built to the same specifications as the 1930’s & 40’s work shirts with all cotton fabric and thread construction, 2 buttoned chest pockets, reinforced shoulder yoke and Bakelite-style buttons.
