Buzz Rickson POW Stripe Shawl Collar Denim Work Jacket

US Navy blue denim work uniform was adopted on June 11th 1919, which consisted of a pull-over smock jacket and waist dungarees, by 1922 field testing had proved the smock jacket was not fit for the job the smock was replaced by a buttoned front jacket with shawl collar and  two hip height patch pockets.

The distinctive Hickory stripe version presented has been rumored as a civilian work jacket or Prisoner Of War jacket, either or a jacket with a definite vintage appeal and aesthetic.

Buzz rickson has reproduced this iconic and highly collectable jacket to  superb standard, using a dry 10oz denim which will wear and fade exactly like originals and the correct USN fouled anchor emblem embossed on the pin backed metal buttons.

A superb summer jacket and perfect for layering in the winter, these jackets are smart, stylish and exceedingly versatile.
