During the Vietnam War, U.S. Military Servicemen liked to order special shirts to commemorate their deployment and battles.
The embroidery on the back of this reads “WHEN I DIE I’LL GO TO HEAVEN BECAUSE I’VE SERVED MY TIME IN HELL”, which straightforwardly expresses their disconsolate mood.
The fabric opted for this type of shirt was an exceptionally thin cotton textile to adapt to the extremely humid climate in Vietnam.
