These 501’s have a few updated tweaks to them, the cut and shape is modernised for a slimmer fit with a lower rise, with close fit round the seat and a leg which tapers to the opening. The pockets are cut ever so slightly bigger than on previous models, and the signature arcuate stitching is shallower. This model also marks the disappearance of the hidden back pocket rivets, instead opting for a modern bar-tack using nylon thread, which was as strong as the hidden rivets of before. This was also the last 501 model to feature the ‘Big E’ red tab, and one of the final iteration of the selvedge 501.
